Here is a little history on how this event got started.
Thanks for much for everyone who has already donated! Hope to see everyone else during the even for some hot chocolate and cookies!
For those that do not know the history of the toy drive – We lost Trey on June 14th, 2014 in a tragic accident. Our friends and us started a foundation, nonprofit 501(c)(3), to benefit kids by helping with their extracurricular activities through financing.
We got a call from a neighbor one night that wanted to find a way to give back and show her young son the power of giving but did not want to just give money but teach him about acts of service.
Well, it was simple from there – Trey loved to give his toys away. Many times, he insisted which ever friend was over to take his favorite toy home with them at that given time because he wanted them to have the enjoyment he did with the toy and knew it would make that person happy. His heart was as huge as his personality.
At Trey’s service we had some friends bring the toys that he had given them or the family.
And this is how the toy drive started – a friend wanted to teach their son about acts of service and Trey always had a heart for giving – and bang, the idea came and the 1st toy drive happened. To date with have donated over 15,000 toys and are looking for another 1000 this year. That is a HUGE number and we are hoping to reach it but will need all your help!!!
Thanks, and hope to see you – sending love, good vibes, happiness, and prayers all your way.
The toy drive was amazing and thanks for all who came out and donated!!!1
